Meter Site Status
Meter Site Status values are used to identify the current state of a utility meter site. This value is often used to indicate whether the meter site is currently being utilized, for example, Active, Inactive, Deactivated, or Obsolete. These values populate the Status drop-down menu on the Utility module's Create Utility page, when the meter site item is selected.
To open the Meter Site Status page:

Open the Administration Menu page.

Under the UTILITY ADMINISTRATION heading, click Meter Site Status.
Adding a meter site status value allows you to define the values that are included in the Status drop-down menu on the Create Utility page when creating a meter site. To create a new meter site status:

Click the Add Meter Site Status link.
The Add Meter Site Status dialog box opens.

In the Name field, enter a name for the status.
The name you enter must be unique.

In the Active Status field, select Yes if this status is active.
You may need to define several types of active or inactive statuses to indicate the current state of a meter site. For example, both the Obsolete and Pending statuses may be inactive, but Obsolete indicates that the meter site will never be used while Pending indicates that the meter site is not yet being used, but may be used soon.

In the Description field, enter a description of the meter site status.

In the Tab Order field, enter a numeric value.
The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

In the Default Status field, select Yes if you want the meter site status to be the default status for meter sites.

Click ADD.
The meter site status value is added to the list. The name of the user who added the meter site status value and the date and time when it was added are displayed.
Meter site status values can be modified. For example, if you want to change the value that users see, you can modify the name. To edit a meter site status value:

Click the Edit link to the right of the meter site status value you want to edit.
The Edit Meter Site Status dialog box opens.

Modify any of the following values:
- Name – the value that users see
- Active Status – Yes indicates that the meter site status value is active
- Description – information about the meter site status value
- Tab Order – the position in which the meter site status value will be displayed in drop-down menus
- Default Status - Yes indicates that the meter site status is the default status for meter sites

Click UPDATE.
The modified meter site status parameters, including the name of the user who edited them and the date and time when they were edited, are displayed.
Meter site status values that have not been used can be deleted from the system. If a meter site status has been assigned to a meter site, it cannot be deleted.
If a meter site status value has been used but is no longer needed, you can edit it and make it inactive to prevent it from being displayed to users.
To delete a meter site status value:

Click the Edit link to the right of the meter site status value you want to delete.
The Edit Meter Site Status dialog box opens.

Click the Delete link in the top right corner of the dialog box.
A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

Click OK.
